Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has admitted that he is "very pleased" that Petr Cech agreed to join the club.
The experienced goalkeeper, who the Gunners boss has insisted is one of the best in the world, completed his move from Chelsea to the Emirates Stadium earlier today for a fee believed to be in the region of £11m.
"Petr Cech is a player that I have admired for a long time and I am very pleased that he has decided to join us," Wenger told the club's official website.
"He has proven over many seasons that he is one of the outstanding keepers in the world and he will add great strength to our squad."
Cech has made the switch across London following an 11-year stint at Stamford Bridge, during which he made 485 appearances.
