Arsene Wenger eager for goal-line technology

Arsene Wenger thinks that if goal-line technology is introduced into the Premier League, referees should have control over it.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger thinks that the Premier League is in desperate need for technology to help resolve issues on the field.

The Football Association announced this week that goal-line technology is currently being tested by FIFA and could be implemented into the English league as early as next season.

"The earlier [it is introduced] the better," Wenger told the club's official website. "I am a big fan and I am an even bigger fan of more technology in the game. I just want to reduce the level of injustice and for me that has nothing to do with the money involved. I just want the right decisions to be made as much as possible and technology can help.

"I want more. Penalty calls, offsides - these kinds of things. But only at the demand of the central referee. He will have the command. When he feels he needs help, let's have access to technology.

"It's better than having somebody who talks two minutes with the referee during the game saying something was offside, or another player saying somebody dived in the box and has a go at the referee."

Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish is also keen on technology being introduced in the game.
