Arsene Wenger: 'Mesut Ozil will benefit from break'

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger believes that midfielder Mesut Ozil will benefit from missing last week's match with Sunderland through injury.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has revealed that midfielder Mesut Ozil needed to "refresh" after missing a penalty against Bayern Munich in the Champions League.

Ozil received criticism for the spot kick error after Arsenal succumbed to a 2-0 defeat, but Wenger believes that the German will benefit from missing last weekend's match with Sunderland.

The Frenchman told reporters: "He had a difficult game against Bayern because he missed that penalty and it was on his mind.

"Sometimes, when you are under this kind of pressure, it's good to refresh."

Ozil has scored five times in 29 appearances since moving to the Emirates Stadium from Real Madrid.
