Arsene Wenger: We have to be defensively "solid"

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger wants to see his side be defensively "solid" against Liverpool this afternoon.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has called for his team to be defensively "solid" when they play Liverpool this afternoon.

The Premier League leaders visit Anfield this afternoon, and the French boss wants his team to stand up to the threat of the Reds' attack.

Speaking to BT Sport, Wenger said: "You have to adjust to the pace of the game and overall you need to be solid defensively and take your chances when you get them.

"You have to trust the quality of your defenders and you have to collectively defend here [at Anfield]. We're going to try to cut off the sources [to Luis Suarez and Daniel Sturridge].

"Our tactics are to control the game and you do that by having the ball."
