Arsenal are ready to battle Everton for the signature of Sevilla midfielder Steven N'Zonzi, according to a report.

Arsenal are reportedly ready to battle Everton for the signature of Sevilla midfielder Steven N'Zonzi.

The 28-year-old has not featured for Sevilla since being substituted at the interval of their Champions League clash with Liverpool last month.

The Frenchman is understood to have left the stadium after being hooked, and has been forced to train alone over the last couple of weeks as punishment.

Everton have been strongly linked with a move for the former Blackburn Rovers and Stoke City midfielder, but according to AS, Arsenal are also very much in the hunt as the Gunners consider activating his £35m release clause next month.

N'Zonzi has won one Europa League title during his time at the Estadio Ramon.
