Arsenal to announce new deals for Per Mertesacker, Bacary Sagna 'soon'

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger reveals that the club are planning to announce new deals for Per Mertesacker and Bacary Sagna "soon".

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has revealed that the club are planning to announce new deals for defenders Per Mertesacker and Bacary Sagna in the near future.

The North London outfit have been in talks with the pair for some time, with Sagna's current terms due to expire at the end of the season.

Mertesacker, who has become a prominent figure in the Gunners' defence, has 16 months remaining on his contract.

Wenger stated in today's press conference that the club will "hopefully announce something soon" with regards to new deals for the pair.

Arsenal are currently at the top of the Premier League table.
