Francis Cagigao has been tipped to become the new director of football at Arsenal.
The Gunners announced earlier this month that Sven Mislintat would be leaving the Emirates Stadium, and the search is underway for a replacement.
Roma's Monchi has been linked with a switch to the North London outfit, but football.london has suggested that the club's head of international recruitment is being favoured for the position.
The report quotes sources as saying that 49-year-old Cagigao is "massively influential" and "an excellent judge of player".
Arsenal are likely to be keen to get a new man in place as soon as possible, with the club having already started to assess potential additions during the summer window.
