Arsenal have reportedly been handed a boost in their efforts to keep Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang at the Emirates Stadium.
With less than 18 months remaining on his contract, Aubameyang has been linked with a move to another top European club, including Barcelona who require a replacement for Luis Suarez.
Despite no approach being made, it was claimed on Monday that Arsenal still feared a bid from the Catalan giants before the end of the January window.
However, according to the Daily Mail, the La Liga team will not be making an offer for the Gabon international.
Instead, newly-appointed boss Quique Setien has allegedly decided to pursue a deal for Valencia striker Rodrigo in the coming days.
The report adds that Barcelona may be prepared to use Nelson Semedo in part-exchange, aware that Valencia are interested in adding a right-back to their squad.
