Arsenal are reportedly hopeful that their improved offer of £18m will be enough to land Celtic full-back Kieran Tierney.
The Gunners have supposedly already had a £15m bid knocked back for the Scotland international, who is considered a good pick because of his pace, energy, versatility and attack-mindedness.
Celtic have informed Arsenal that it will take £25m to prise Tierney away but, according to The Guardian, the North London outfit are going to try their luck by offering substantially less.
Unai Emery is working with a small budget of around £40m this summer and is cautious of spending too much on one player.
Tierney, who has racked up more than 100 league appearances for Celtic over the last three years, will apparently earn £70,000 a week should he join Arsenal.
