Arsenal's attempt to sign Queens Park Rangers goalkeeper Julio Cesar looks destined to end in failure.
Gunners manager Arsene Wenger had made Cesar one of his main transfer targets this summer, but the 33-year-old is reportedly on the verge of joining Napoli.
According to Football Italia, the Serie A outfit have reached an agreement with QPR to take the Brazil stopper on a season-long loan, but personal terms have not yet been finalised.
Cesar, who has been capped 74 times at senior international level, moved to Loftus Road from Inter Milan in August 2012.
He made 24 Premier League starts for the Hoops, who were relegated in April.
