Arsene Wenger has insisted that Theo Walcott is currently negotiating with Arsenal over a potential new deal, despite the winger previously dismissing the speculation.
The England international took to Twitter earlier this week to refute his manager's claims that a new deal was being negotiated.
However, Wenger is adamant that the 26-year-old has started talks with the club over a possible new contract.
"We have started to negotiate with Theo to extend his contract. Personally I would like to keep him," Wenger said, according to Goal.com.
Walcott's current situation is attracting interest from rival Premier League teams, with both Liverpool and Manchester United linked with the forward.
