Aston Villa owner Randy Lerner has given his support to new manager Paul Lambert.
Former Norwich City boss Lambert was unveiled as the club's new manager on Wednesday after three years at the helm at Carrow Road.
Lerner fired Alex McLeish at the end of last season after a disappointing campaign that left Villa just two points clear of the relegation zone, but the American has offered his backing to the new man in charge.
Lerner tweeted: "It has been a real breath of fresh air hearing him plan for the summer and certainly the upcoming season.
"Paul has done his research. He knows our ground and most importantly our base of support.
"We feel Paul has the energy and the leadership pedigree to energize the Villa squad."
Lerner took over Aston Villa in 2006.
