Emile Heskey says that he is willing to play in the Championship next season.

Former England forward Emile Heskey has hinted that he is interested in a move to Hull City.

Heskey is currently a free agent after being released by Aston Villa last month.

Steve Bruce, who worked with Heskey at Birmingham City and Wigan Athletic, took charge at the KC Stadium nine days ago and is reportedly keen to link up with the 34-year-old at his new club.

"Steve is a very good manager who I know well," said Heskey. "I always enjoyed playing for him.

"I have not had any contact with any clubs about next season yet but I am definitely not hanging up my boots.

"I certainly wouldn't rule out playing in the Championship."

Heskey has scored 118 career league goals in 546 appearances.
