Filipe Luis wants to avoid Real Madrid in semi-finals

Atletico Madrid defender Filipe Luis admits that he wants to avoid drawing capital rivals Real Madrid in the semi-finals of the Champions League this season.

Atletico Madrid defender Filipe Luis has conceded that he wants to avoid facing Real Madrid in the semi-finals of the Champions League.

Atletico booked their spot in the final four of the competition with a 3-2 aggregate success over Barcelona on Wednesday night and they will face either Real Madrid, Manchester City or Bayern Munich in the semi-finals.

When questioned on the draw, Luis claimed that he wanted to avoid an all-Madrid affair in the next round.

"All I ask for the semis is that we don't get Madrid. I don't want that," Luis told reporters.

A double from Antoine Griezmann at the Vicente Calderon saw Atletico beat Barcelona in the Champions League quarter-finals once again.
