Juanfran: 'We will never give up'

Atletico Madrid defender Juanfran insists that the Spanish champions will not give up their La Liga title without a stern challenge.

Atletico Madrid defender Juanfran has insisted that the capital outfit will not give up their La Liga crown without a fight.

Diego Simeone's side, who occupy third, are currently seven points behind league leaders Barcelona, while they are only one point ahead of fourth-placed Valencia.

However, Juanfran has claimed that the La Liga holders 'will not surrender' their title.

"If there is something about this team it is that it never gives up and we are not going to surrender," Juanfran told Mundo Deportivo. "We are all going to give our best and personally I'll do my best to support the team in whatever capacity I'm needed.

"There's no crisis of results and we are not on a bad run. We are strong and anyone who thinks otherwise doesn't know this team, least of all Atletico Madrid.

"I believe we are competing well and that the fans are proud of us. We'll be doing our utmost right until the end of the season. I'm very relaxed about it."

Atletico have won 17 of their 26 league games this season.
