Tottenham Hotspur are allegedly interested in signing one of Brighton & Hove Albion's loan stars during one of the upcoming transfer windows.

Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly identified one of Brighton & Hove Albion's prospects as a potential transfer target.

While Spurs have invested in youth in recent transfer windows, their ambitions to build an effective squad under Ange Postecoglou is yet to translate onto the pitch.

Sunday's 2-1 defeat at home to Ipswich Town was their fifth in 11 Premier League matches during the 2024-25 campaign.

Although Spurs remain three points adrift of third place in the table, the pressure on Postecoglou is beginning to intensify with the Greek-Australian acknowledging that he is largely responsible for their inconsistencies.

With their defensive performances being a large factor in their results, it would come as no surprise if Spurs attempted to sign a new centre-back during the January window.

Nevertheless, it appears they have an interest in adding yet another creative player to their ranks at some point in 2025.

Spurs to move for Buonanotte?

According to Fichajes, Spurs are open to paying big money to secure the signature of Facundo Buonanotte.

Brighton allowed the young Argentine to go out on loan to Leicester City in the hope that regular football would allow him to showcase his talent.

As it stands, Buonanotte is arguably performing beyond expectations, contributing three goals and two assists from his nine appearances in the Premier League.

Having completed the 90 minutes in the Foxes' last four top-flight fixtures, it is clear that the 19-year-old is regarded as a key man in Steve Cooper's side.

The expectation is that the Argentina international will continue at the King Power Stadium for the remainder of the campaign before Brighton reassess his situation.

That said, it is alleged that the East Midlands outfit would consider parting with as much as €50m if Buonanotte continues on his current trajectory.

Would Spurs be prepared to match bid?

While the report does not state whether Spurs would be open to spending as much money on Buonanotte as Leicester, it is suggested that a strong bid would follow if forced to compete.

From Brighton's perspective, however, they will be in no rush to cash in on a player who has a contract until 2028 and could theoretically fit seamlessly into Fabian Hurzeler's squad.

The Seagulls have already invested time into the starlet's development, handing him 50 appearances across all competitions since his arrival in January 2023.
