Atletico Madrid are reportedly prepared to rekindle their interest in Fulham midfielder Andreas Pereira.
The Spanish club were believed to be considering a move for Pereira in the January transfer window, but Fulham were unwilling to sanction a sale midway through the season.
Atletico still managed to strengthen their midfield, bringing in 19-year-old Arthur Vermeeren from Belgian side Royal Antwerp.
Vermeeren has ultimately struggled for playing time, with Diego Simeone able to call upon Koke, Pablo Barrios, Rodrigo de Paul and Saul Niguez.
Despite having a number of midfield options at their disposal, Atleti are still open to the prospect of signing a new midfielder ahead of the 2024-25 campaign.

According to Sky Sports News, Atletico are willing to renew their interest in Pereira in the summer transfer window.
The report claims that Atletico are among a number of clubs that are currently monitoring the Brazilian's situation.
Two unnamed major clubs are said to be showing an interest, while several Italian sides are also weighing up a move for the attacking midfielder.
Although he has been linked with teams from around Europe, Pereira's preference would be to stay in the Premier League if he completes a move away from Craven Cottage in the summer.
There is a feeling from Pereira's camp that Fulham will consider any offers despite the fact he has a contract until June 2026 with an option to extend by a further year.

The 28-year-old spent time in Manchester United's academy, before he went on to make 75 appearances for the senior side.
During his spell with the Red Devils, Pereira experienced four different loan spells with Granada, Valencia, Lazio and Flamengo.
Since completing a move to Craven Cottage in 2022, Pereira has become an important player in Marco Silva's side, having featured in 77 matches across all competitions.
Pereira has started 29 of his 32 Premier League appearances this season, scoring one goal and providing seven assists.
