Barcelona confirm the arrival of new head coach Gerardo Martino on a two-year deal.

Barcelona have confirmed that Gerardo Martino has become the club's new coach following the departure of Tito Vilanova.

The 50-year-old swiftly became the favourite to take the position after Vilanova's decision to step down due to health reasons.

The club have confirmed on their official website that Martino will take charge of the Catalan giants after agreeing a two-year contract.

The 50-year-old will head to Camp Nou on the back of guiding Newell's Old Boys to the Argentinian title last season.
