Barcelona are reportedly expected to announce the departure of manager Tito Vilanova due to poor health.

Barcelona are reportedly poised to announce the departure of manager Tito Vilanova in a press conference today.

Widespread reports in Spain have claimed that club president Sandro Rosell will confirm that Vilanova's two-year contract has come to an early end.

According to Sport, it is understood that the Spanish champions will announce to the media at 7.30pm that Vilanova will step down from his role after taking over from Pep Guardiola in the summer of 2012.

It has been claimed that poor health is the reason behind the managerial change following Vilanova's battle with throat cancer.

The 44-year-old was first diagnosed in 2011 with parotid gland cancer and underwent surgery to remove a tumour a year later.

The coach had a six-week period of chemotherapy treatment before returning to the bench in March this year.
