Antoine Griezmann: 'More to come from Barcelona'

Antoine Griezmann insists that Barcelona "can do much better" following Tuesday's 2-1 home win over Villarreal.

Antoine Griezmann has insisted that Barcelona "can do much better" as the Spanish champions look to negotiate a difficult start to the 2019-20 campaign.

Barca lost two of their first five La Liga matches of the new season before returning to winning ways at home to Villarreal on Tuesday night - recording a 2-1 victory over the Yellow Submarine.

Griezmann and Arthur netted inside the first 15 minutes at Camp Nou, but it was a nervy second half for Ernesto Valverde's side following Santi Cazorla's strike late in the first period.

Barca held on to secure an important three points, but Griezmann has said that the Catalan giants "have to keep working" as they attempt to reach top form.

"We had chances, but we failed [to convert more goals]. I don't know what happened to me in the second half. I tried to finish [but couldn't score]," Marca quotes Griezmann as saying. "We're going to do more. We can do much better. We have to keep working. New players have arrived, and we have to keep working."

Barca are currently fourth in Spain's top flight on 10 points - just one point behind leaders Granada, who have played a game more than second-placed Athletic Bilbao and third-placed Real Madrid.
