Barcelona forward Lionel Messi may not be back from injury in time to face league rivals Atletico Madrid next weekend, according to coach Gerardo Martino.
Messi has been out with a hamstring injury since November, but returned to training for the Catalan club last week.
However, Barca coach Martino has said that he is still unsure whether the Argentina international will be able to face title-chasing Madrid.
"Messi is fine, but I don't know if he'll be able to play against Atletico," said Martino, according to Goal.com.
"He has trained well though, and looks good physically and mentally. I haven't decided on the team for the Copa del Rey game yet, let alone next weekend. We know what's important is our shape.
"I can't say for sure if we'll rotate in the week, but I think it makes sense to try to peak towards the end of the season."
Barcelona currently top the La Liga table, but only on goal difference, with Atletico breathing down their necks on the same number of points.
