Wolverhampton Wanderers defender Romain Saiss has reportedly emerged as a potential transfer target for Barcelona.
Having spent the last six years at Molineux, the Morocco international is expected to leave Wolves when his contract expires at the end of June.
The 32-year-old has already acknowledged that he is ready to take on a new challenge after making 206 appearances for the Premier League outfit, but it appears that he has received surprise interest from one of European football's top clubs.
According to reports in Spain, Barcelona have identified Saiss as an ideal option to boost their squad numbers, particularly with no transfer fee involved.
The Catalan giants are currently in the process of formulating plans to boost their financial positions while ensuring that Xavi's team can compete with Real Madrid for the La Liga title in 2022-23.
Saiss is capable of playing in the middle of defence and acting as backup to left-back Jordi Alba, something which seemingly appeals to the powers-that-be at Camp Nou.
