Javi Martinez insists that he has not considered swapping Athletic Bilbao for Barcelona this summer.

Javi Martinez has insisted that he has not considered leaving Athletic Bilbao this summer.

The Spanish international has been heavily linked with a switch to Barcelona over the coming weeks.

Despite acknowledging the reported interest from Barca, the 23-year-old midfielder has indicated that he would be happy to see out his contract with Bilbao.

"The fact I'm being linked with Barcelona is a sign that I'm playing well but I'm not thinking about any of that. I'm concentrating on the Euros and trying to get as many minutes as possible with the national team," Martinez said.

"I'm not thinking about leaving. I'm an Athletic player, if you ask me what I think about being a target for Barcelona then I will say that's just a sign that I'm doing well. But I'm at home at Athletic and I have a contract."

Martinez joined Bilbao from fellow Spanish club Osasuna in 2006.
