Valencia are interested in re-signing unsettled midfielder Andre Gomes on loan from Barcelona this summer, according to a report.

Valencia are reportedly interested in re-signing Andre Gomes on loan from Barcelona this summer.

Gomes only moved to Camp Nou from Valencia in the summer of 2016, but has struggled to settle at the Catalan club.

The 24-year-old did make 31 appearances in all competitions for Barcelona last season, although he found it difficult to win a spot in Ernesto Valverde's starting XI, and featured in just 16 La Liga games last term.

Tottenham Hotspur and Wolverhampton Wanderers have recently been credited with an interest in the Portuguese, but according to Diario Sport, talks have also taken place with Valencia over a potential return to the Mestalla on loan.

Gomes, who was left out of Portugal's squad for the 2018 World Cup, made 78 appearances for Valencia before leaving the former Spanish champions for Barcelona ahead of the 2016-17 campaign.
