Bayern Munich CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has warned the squad against complacency ahead of their Champions League opener against Olympiacos.
After triumphing in the competition under Jupp Heynckes in 2013, Bayern have suffered defeat in the semi-finals in the two seasons since Pep Guardiola arrived at the Allianz Arena.
However, Rummenigge believes that Bayern will be punished if they look ahead to the latter stages too soon.
"We have to concentrate and take it seriously. I'm not thinking about the final. We'd do well to take it step by step and make sure we qualify for the round of 16," he told reporters.
"It's vital we don't underestimate them. A few big teams have patently done that in the past and been on the end of upsets here."
Bayern have won all five of their competitive matches this season.
