New Bayern Munich attacker Mario Gotze says that "it wasn't easy" to leave Borussia Dortmund this summer.

Bayern Munich attacker Mario Gotze has admitted that "it wasn't easy" to leave Borussia Dortmund this summer.

The 21-year-old, who was presented to the media on Tuesday, has also revealed that his role model is Barcelona's Lionel Messi.

"Lionel Messi is a role model for everyone, including me," Gotze told reporters at a press conference.

"I don't see the transfer amount as extra pressure. It's something to be proud of having just turned 21.

"Looking back, it wasn't easy when the news broke that I was leaving Dortmund, but that's behind me now. The important thing is to develop myself and I wanted to do that at Bayern."

Gotze came through the youth ranks at Dortmund.
