Sports Mole previews Tuesday's Championship clash between Blackburn Rovers and Barnsley at Ewood Park.

Blackburn Rovers will look to continue their impressive start to the Championship season when they welcome Barnsley to Ewood Park on Tuesday.

Steve Kean's side currently sit atop the pile after securing 11 points from their opening five games, with many touting the former Premier League sides as the favourites for the division this season.

They have won three and lost three of their last six games at home, but have won 17 of the 28 previous meetings against Barnsley, with the latest victory coming in an FA Cup tie in 2002.

Barnsley, meanwhile, have secured seven points from their opening five games to sit 12th in the table, but they have won just one of their last six away games in the Championship.

Blackburn have no fresh injury concerns ahead of the match, although Ruben Rochina could replace Morten Gamst Pederson in midfield. Jordan Rhodes, who scored twice against Bristol City, should also start alongside Nuno Gomes.

Barnsley could recall Marlon Harewood to their lineup following the 1-1 draw with Blackpool on Saturday, but Jacob Mellis is struggling with a knee complaint.

Recent form:

Blackburn: DWWLDW
Barnsley: WLLLWD

Possible lineups:

Blackburn: Robinson; Orr, Givet, Dann, Olsson; Ribeiro, Etuhu, Murphy, Rochina; Gomes, Rhodes

Barnsley: Alnwick; Stones, Foster, Wiseman, Golbourne; Cywka, Dawson, Cranie, Dagnall; Davies, Harewood

Sports Mole says: 3-0
