Jurgen Klopp hopeful of Mats Hummels fitness

Jurgen Klopp hopes to be able to name Mats Hummels in his starting lineup this weekend.

Borussia Dortmund coach Jurgen Klopp has admitted he is hopeful that Mats Hummels will be fit enough to play against Schalke 04 on Saturday.

He also said that he is waiting to see whether midfield duo Sven Bender and Sebastian Kehl will also be able to make the Bundesliga clash.

"If we had a day or two more, it would be ideal," Bundesliga.de quotes Klopp as saying. "There is no question, he is getting better every day. It was a normal flu that lasts less than four weeks. So it looks very likely that he will play.

"Kehl's injury against Shakhtar has not become worse, but it is no better. Bender was out for a week last time, so hopefully he can now return faster."

Dortmund are currently 17 points behind Bayern Munich in the Bundesliga.
