Wes Thomas wants Championship football

On-loan Birmingham City striker Wes Thomas is hopeful of earning a move to a Championship club next season.

Wes Thomas is hopeful that his performances for Birmingham City from now until the end of the season will be enough to earn him a move to the Championship.

The Bournemouth striker, who joined the Blues on loan in January, has impressed in his seven appearances in England's second tier this season.

However, as it stands, he will return to his parent club at the end of the campaign.

"If you can put in a good performance, you might catch someone's eye," he told Sky Sports News.

"You are playing for your future. That is one of the things I keep in the back of my mind. You have to work hard and keep on grafting. If I do not, I could find myself without a Championship club."

It is understood that a host of Championship clubs are monitoring his performances.
