Half-Time Report: Brazil, Chile remain goalless after lacklustre first half

Douglas Costa and Neymar come close to scoring, but Brazil and Chile remain goalless at half time at Arsenal's Emirates Stadium.

Brazil and Chile are level at half time of their international friendly at the Emirates Stadium, after a tedious opening 45 minutes in which neither goalkeeper made a save.

Brazil had the best chances in a half that was starved of goalmouth action, as Barcelona star Neymar whipped a dangerous free kick into the box which narrowly missed both the head of Miranda, and the far post.

Attacking midfielder Douglas Costa wasted a fine opportunity for last year's World Cup hosts as he blazed a shot high into the stands from inside the penalty box, after Marcelo had found him with a deep cross.

Chile enjoyed most of the possession in North London but they struggled to break down a stubborn Brazil defence, protected by Manchester City midfielder Fernandinho.

As the half progressed, the game became more open, but both sides struggled to exploit the space that they allowed each other and the scores remained deadlocked as they left for the interval.
