Ronaldo hints at US comeback

Former Brazil striker Ronaldo reveals that he may come out of retirement to play for Fort Lauderdale Strikers in the North American Soccer League.

Former Real Madrid and Inter Milan striker Ronaldo has revealed that he would be interested in coming out of retirement to play for North American Soccer League franchise Fort Lauderdale Strikers.

The 38-year-old, who was named FIFA World Player of the Year on three occasions, finished his career with Corinthians in 2011, but he admits that he is considering a return for Fort Lauderdale after recently becoming a minority owner of the club.

"That is not easy because I love to play, I love soccer, that was all my life my big love. When I retired, I stopped playing because of my body, so much pain and injuries," the Brazilian World Cup winner told reporters.

"To play a soccer game you have to be in very good shape. I will try for myself, it's another challenge, I am sure it will help the league, help the team.

"I will train a lot, and if the [coach] needs me, maybe."

If Ronaldo does come out of retirement to play in the NASL, he could come up against former Madrid teammate Raul, who is now playing for the New York Cosmos.
