Billy Davies: 'Burnley draw is a travesty'

Nottingham Forest boss Billy Davies describes his team's failure to secure all three points against Championship leaders Burnley as a "travesty".

Nottingham Forest boss Billy Davies has claimed that it is a "travesty" that his team did not take all three points in the 1-1 draw with Championship leaders Burnley at the City Ground.

Forest slipped behind to a 28th-minute penalty from Sam Vokes, before drawing level 14 minutes later through Simon Cox but, despite enjoying a wealth of possession, Davies's men struggled to find the winning goal.

Speaking to the club's official website, the 49-year-old reveals that he is nonplussed as to how his team failed to capitalise on their "total dominance".

"I'm sure everyone who watched the game would agree that we were totally dominant," the former Derby County boss said.

"We played fantastic football, were tactically excellent and nullified the league leaders. The whole team performance was superb and I really am delighted.

"I thought it was a travesty that we didn't take all three points and I'm sure Burnley will be relieved to get out of here with a draw."

The Reds, who remain fifth in England's second tier, seven points adrift of an automatic promotion place, host Reading on Friday.
