Interim boss Gareth Southgate will reportedly name Burnley defender Michael Keane in his first England squad later today.
The Manchester United academy product, who has been heavily linked with a move away from Turf Moor in recent months, earned most of his Under-21s caps under Southgate's watch.
According to The Mirror, Keane will now be given a chance to impress in the England senior fold as he has done enough to earn a call-up for the first time following a string of impressive displays over the past 12 months.
Southgate will be without Adam Lallana for the upcoming games against Malta and Slovenia, however, as the Liverpool midfielder hobbled off the pitch during his side's 2-1 win over Swansea City on Saturday afternoon.
England are second in the Group F standings for World Cup 2018 qualifying, sitting behind rivals Scotland by virtue of an inferior goal difference after one game.
