Kris Commons: 'Bad time for international break'

Celtic midfielder Kris Commons says that the international break has come at a bad time after he recently returned from a hamstring injury.

Celtic midfielder Kris Commons has said that he would have preferred to have no international break after recently returning from a hamstring injury.

Commons was injured for a fortnight before making his return in the Scottish League Cup final victory over Dundee United.

"It's coming at a weird time as I was injured two weeks ago and I would like a run in the team to try to get another couple of goals," Commons told the Celtic View.

"But for a guy who's not a spring chicken any more, it's always nice to try and get a bit of sun, especially living in Glasgow.

"I'm missing out on the Vitamin D, so I need to go and get some sunshine and recharge - I haven't booked anything yet but I could do with getting in a rocket and flying to the sun just to get some rays."

Commons retired from international football two years ago after scoring twice in 12 appearances for Scotland.
