Chelsea defender David Luiz is desperate to avoid playing in the Europa League next season.

Chelsea defender David Luiz has revealed that he does not want to play in the Europa League next season.

The Blues are currently fifth in the Premier League table with seven matches of the season remaining.

Should Chelsea finish in that position, they will miss out on qualification for the Champions League.

"When I joined the club I wanted to win the Champions League," the Brazilian international told reporters. "I don't want to play in the Europa League, I want to be in the Champions League.

"I know we're not in a good position in the league, but it is possible for us to win the Champions League and FA Cup still.

"And don't forget that either Manchester United or Manchester City will finish the season by winning nothing."

Yesterday Chelsea claimed a 4-2 victory from their trip to Aston Villa.
