Roberto Di Matteo insists that "spirit is fine" at Stamford Bridge ahead of the FA Cup final.

Chelsea boss Roberto Di Matteo has said that "spirit is fine" at Stamford Bridge ahead of the FA Cup final against Liverpool this afternoon.

The Blues lost 2-0 to Newcastle United in midweek in what was Di Matteo's second defeat in charge.

While the Italian admits that the result was a big disappointment, he insists that his side's focus has turned to what lies ahead.

"It was a big disappointment [losing to Newcastle]," he said. "But we have to focus on the FA Cup. That's vital for us. We have to move on and look forward.

"The spirit is still good because we've been pushing for the last eight weeks and we've achieved some good results. You have to give credit to the opposition, but we're still a good team and the spirit is fine going into the game."

Meanwhile, Chelsea are in sixth place in the Premier League, four points adrift of the top four.
