Gary Cahill has said that having a big squad will help Chelsea as the season goes on.
Jose Mourinho has made frequent changes to the starting lineup so far this campaign, which has seen the Stamford Bridge side play 17 matches in all competitions since the opening weekend of the Premier League season.
The defender told the club's website: "We are fortunate enough to have a big squad here and you saw that last season when we had so many fixtures. I think we understand as a squad there are great players that miss out and are sometimes rotated but as long as it is rotation then obviously that's great.
"We put ourselves first for the team but we want to be involved with the team and playing a big part. None of the players are any different, but because of the amount of fixtures we have, against City and Arsenal we switched almost the whole team around, the strength is good and players are getting game time.
"As long as that happens then there are players chomping at the bit which is always healthy. Of course you want to be out there more times than not, but I was glad to be back out there playing on Wednesday and to get a clean sheet makes it even more pleasing."
Chelsea host West Bromwich Albion tomorrow.
