QPR midfielder Shaun Derry insists that the team are supportive of Anton Ferdinand during the racism row with John Terry.

Queens Park Rangers midfielder Shaun Derry has insisted that Neil Warnock's team are supportive of Anton Ferdinand during the race row.

The Rangers defender is alleged to have been racially abused by Chelsea captain John Terry during the West London derby last month.

While both players involved have refrained from speaking about the incident during ongoing investigations, Derry insists that the controversy has brought the team closer.

"Everyone has got an opinion, that is what makes it so interesting," Derry told talkSPORT. "What we do is come together as a team when we play.

"[Ferdinand's] our teammate. What we can't do is voice opinions in the media because you're on a loser in that situation.

"But, for us, Anton is our player and we're right behind him, just as John Terry is a Chelsea player and his teammates are right behind him. That's how it's got to be in that dressing room."

The Football Association have yet to conclude their investigation into the racism claims.
