Eva Carneiro 'seeking constructive dismissal claim against Chelsea'

A report claims that Eva Carneiro's lawyers are seeking a claim against Chelsea for the constructive dismissal of the club doctor earlier this year.

Former Chelsea team doctor Eva Carneiro's lawyers have reportedly served notice on the club that she intends to claim for constructive dismissal.

The 42-year-old was relieved of her duties in August after being publicly criticised by boss Jose Mourinho for treating Eden Hazard during the opening-day 2-2 draw with Swansea City.

Mourinho suggested that Carneiro, along with John Fearn - who has been kept on as part of the backroom staff - should not have entered the field of play as it resulted in Hazard having to temporarily go off.

According to The Guardian, legal papers were served on Chelsea earlier this week and will trigger an employment tribunal unless a settlement can be agreed out of court prior to a hearing taking place.

No settlement has yet been reached with the West London outfit, with the three-month period for a claim to be made due to expire on November 8.

Mourinho has since been cleared by the Football Association of using discriminatory language towards Carneiro.
