Former Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho attends Brighton vs. Middlesbrough

Jose Mourinho attends Brighton & Hove Albion versus Middlesbrough in the Championship to support his former Real Madrid assistant Aitor Karanka.

Jose Mourinho has turned up at this afternoon's top-of-the-table Championship clash between Brighton & Hove Albion and Middlesbrough two days after he parted company with Chelsea.

Mourinho left the Blues on Thursday after only four league wins in 16 games this season and released his first statement since his exit earlier today which said that he wanted to secure another job as soon as possible.

In the statement, his agency CAA said: "You will see Jose at football grounds working and supporting friends. He will not be attending any high-profile games because he wants to discourage any speculation about his future."

Mourinho has been pictured at The Amex Stadium and is likely there to watch Boro, who are managed by his former Real Madrid assistant Aitor Karanka.

The Teesside club start the day ahead of the Seagulls on goal difference and on a run of five unbeaten games in which they have not conceded a goal and won four.
