Andre Schurrle: 'I did not fail at Chelsea'

Wolfsburg attacker Andre Schurrle insists that he "definitely did not fail" during his time at Chelsea.

Wolfsburg forward Andre Schurrle has claimed that his Chelsea career should not be considered a failure.

Schurrle spent just 18 months at Stamford Bridge before Jose Mourinho allowed him to join Wolfsburg in the January transfer window, but the 24-year-old believes that he can be proud of his time with the Premier League champions.

"I definitely did not fail at Chelsea," the Germany international told Kicker.

"I always had my chance, scored important goals in the first season. At the end I just wanted the transfer, although Jose Mourinho wanted me to stay. But I did not feel the complete backing."

Schurrle played 22 times for Wolfsburg in the second half of the season and scores just one goal.
