Chelsea striker Daniel Sturridge has vowed to work hard for his place in Andre Villas-Boas's starting lineup.
The England Under-21 player is hoping to impress the new manager as he looks to challenge the more experienced Fernando Torres and Didier Drogba for a place in the side.
Sturridge told the official Chelsea website: "I’m here training in pre-season and looking forward to the start of the new season, where I can show everybody what I am capable of doing.
"It is the same in every team around the world. Every striker has got to fight for their place and it is no different here. It is a thing every striker has got to be prepared to do."
Sturridge spent much of last season on loan at Bolton, where he impressed by scoring eight goals in twelve appearances.
