Chelsea captain John Terry has admitted that he is under no illusions that he should be gifted a regular place in interim manager Rafael Benitez's starting lineup.
The centre-back has drifted in and out of the team since damaging his knee back in November, but the former England international is content with fighting for his position.
"All I can do, if I am not first or second choice, is obviously take my opportunities and try and impress the manager on a daily basis," Terry told Sky Sports News.
"If he decides to go with the other two [players], then so be it. It is down to me to work hard and get back in this very good team."
Terry netted a brace and David Luiz found the back of the net with a thumping shot in last night's 3-0 win over Fulham in the Premier League.
