Gianfranco Zola dismisses "boring Chelsea" criticism

Gianfranco Zola dismisses critics of Chelsea's style of play and claims that his former club deserve to win the Premier League title.

Chelsea legend Gianfranco Zola has shrugged off criticism of Jose Mourinho's side's style of play and claimed that the Blues will be deserving winners of the Premier League.

Mourinho's men were booed off with chants of "boring boring Chelsea" by sections of the Arsenal support in Sunday's goalless draw at the Emirates, but Zola believes that his former club have been the best side this season.

The Italian told talkSPORT: "There has been a lot of talk about Chelsea, and how they have played, but I believe, in the first part of the season, they played brilliant football and they totally deserve this [title].

"The last few weeks, probably the standard of football hasn't been as good as before, but in a league like the Premier League, which is so draining, you cannot keep the same standards. Chelsea totally deserve it."
