John Terry 'desperate' to face Queens Park Rangers

John Terry is reportedly desperate to face Queens Park Rangers in Saturday's potentially heated clash.

Chelsea captain John Terry is reportedly desperate to be passed fit to play against Queens Park Rangers on Saturday.

The England defender will plead with manager Roberto Di Matteo to select him for the game as he does not want fans to think he is avoiding a potential confrontation with Anton Ferdinand, The Mirror claims.

Tensions are expected to run high in the game following the high-profile race row between the two players. Terry was cleared of racially abusing the QPR defender in court, but the case is still under FA investigation.

A pre-match handshake between the two teams is expected to go ahead, despite reports that Ferdinand plans to shun Terry and Ashley Cole, who acted as a witness for his teammate in court.

Terry missed England's World Cup qualifier against the Ukraine mid-week with an ankle injury, but has since returned to training.
