Chelsea are allegedly considering replacing Antonio Conte with Napoli manager Maurizio Sarri.

Chelsea are reportedly considering replacing Antonio Conte with Napoli manager Maurizio Sarri.

Question marks over Conte's future at Stamford Bridge have been raised in recent weeks following the Blues' shaky attempt to defend the Premier League title, which has seen them fall nine points behind leaders Manchester City with nine games played.

According to a report last week, the Chelsea players have also become "unhappy" with Conte and what they perceive to be excessive training sessions.

Conte himself has declared that he does not fear the sack, but according to Italian publication 7 Gold, Chelsea are contemplating letting him go and appointing Sarri on a deal worth £9m a year.

Sarri, 58, has an extensive managerial career, having managed 18 clubs in the last 27 years, and has been in charge of Napoli since Rafael Benitez's departure in June 2015.

The Light Blues currently lead the way in Serie A with a three-point advantage over defending champions Juventus with nine games played.
