Antonio Conte is reportedly holding out for a huge £10m payoff from owner Roman Abramovich before agreeing to step down as Chelsea manager.
The 48-year-old is no longer wanted by the Blues following a disappointing second season in West London, which could still end with silverware if they advance in the FA Cup.
According to The Mirror, however, Conte's Stamford Bridge departure has been delayed as he is owed a mammoth compensation package.
Chelsea are still in the process of scouting a new manager to replace Conte, while the Italian's representatives are also attempting to secure alternative employment for him.
The report suggests that last term's Premier League title winners are confident of reaching an agreement with the ex-Juventus boss shortly after the season ends.
