Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois has admitted that his side will be out of the Premier League title race if they fail to beat Manchester United on Sunday.
The weekend's crunch league meeting at Stamford Bridge comes off the back of the Blues' 3-0 defeat at Roma in the Champions League, while Jose Mourinho's United eased past Benfica on Tuesday evening.
Antonio Conte's side are also under pressure in the league as the club sit fourth, nine points behind leaders Manchester City.
"[Manchester United] is a must-win game," Courtois told reporters. "Manchester City are already nine points ahead of us, Manchester United four and Tottenham Hotspur one.
"We must win games like these to remain at the top and close to the other ones. We will try to get the three points and will give our lives for it on Sunday.
"We will try to do our best to fight again and show the fans that [Roma] was just an off day and that we can continue."
Chelsea won the Premier League for a fifth time last term with a record 30 wins from 38 games.
