AC Milan reportedly identify Chelsea midfielder Jorginho as an ideal replacement for Barcelona-bound Franck Kessie.

AC Milan have reportedly earmarked Chelsea midfielder Jorginho as an ideal replacement for Franck Kessie.

Kessie has rejected the chance to sign a new deal with the Rossoneri and is now expected to complete a move to Barcelona on a free transfer in the summer.

As a result, Stefano Pioli's side are expected to be in the market for midfield reinforcements ahead of the 2022-23 season, with Kessie proving an integral player in their push for the Scudetto.

According to Calciomercato, Chelsea midfielder Jorginho is being lined up as a replacement, with the Blues' agent recently claiming that the Italian "dreams" of returning to Serie A.

The 30-year-old has been linked with an exit from Stamford Bridge for some months now - with his existing deal due to expire in 2023 - but it remains to be seen how the uncertainty surrounding the club's ownership will impact their summer business.

Jorginho has scored nine goals and provided three assists in 38 matches across all competitions this season and previously made 151 appearances in Serie A with Napoli and Hellas Verona.
