Chelsea defender Andreas Christensen is reportedly closing in on a new contract worth £120k per week in the English capital.
The Denmark international has been handed a new lease of life under Thomas Tuchel at Stamford Bridge and featured prominently en route to the Champions League crown last term.
However, Christensen's current deal at Chelsea is due to expire at the end of the current season, but the centre-back previously hinted that he was hoping to extend his stay in West London.
Now, The Sun claims that progress has been made in negotiations, and Christensen is on the verge of signing a new deal with a six-figure weekly salary.
The report claims that the Blues initially set out to decrease Christensen's current £78k weekly wage, but his improved fortunes under Tuchel convinced the club to offer him a more lucrative deal.
Christensen has progressed through the youth ranks at Chelsea since joining as a 16-year-old in 2012, and the Euro 2020 semi-finalist has now made 133 appearances for the Blues but is still awaiting his first goal.
